our Community initiatives
At Hope & Sons, we're deeply involved in the community via Annual Art Awards, Okoranui Eco Sanctuary, Sponsorship & Funeral Education sessions.
Why We Provide Funeral Education
Funerals are one of life’s most important events, yet many people feel unprepared when the time comes. Our education sessions are designed to:
- Answer common questions about funerals, cremations, and burials
- Provide guidance on advance planning and pre-paid funerals
- Share information about grief and how to support those experiencing loss
- Build awareness of eco-friendly and personalised funeral options
How We Share Knowledge
Our community education includes:
- Workshops and talks at local venues and community groups
- Free Information evenings hosted at our facilities in Dunedin and Mosgiel
- Resource guides and materials for families to take away
- Guest speakers from related fields such as grief counselling and community care
Helping Families Feel Prepared
Our community sessions are open to anyone, whether you’re planning ahead, recently bereaved, or simply interested in learning more. By making information accessible, we hope to reduce uncertainty and help families feel more confident when making funeral decisions.
