Peacefully, on July 23, 2025, at Dunedin Hospital, with family by his side; aged 88 years.  Dearly loved husband of the late Jean, Much loved father and father-in-law of Anne and Bryan Dobson, Steve and his partner Rachel, adored Grandfather of Matthew and Sophia, Jason and Maddy, Tanya and Alasdair, loved brother of the late Tom, John, Pat, Sheila, Josie, May, Madge, and Rose, loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, friend to many.  Thank you to the staff of Dunedin Hospital, and Dr John Edmond for their love and care. 

 A celebration of Mattie's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, at 11 am, on Friday, August 1.  The service then leaving for Green Park Cemetery.  Messages to 14 County Road, Kaikorai, Dunedin 9010, or on Mattie's page below.
