On June 25, 2026, peacefully with his wife and soulmate Helen by his side; aged 69 years.  Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Gordon and Jilena, Colin and Kianee (Sydney), Anna and James (Wellington), very much loved grandad of Zoe, and David; Ivan, and Dhuwi (Sydney), loved brother of Alison Hastings (Australia), much loved brother-in-law of Mark and Rolene (Lower Hutt), Cath and the late Ian, loved uncle to his nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to the staff at Ross Home for their dignified care of David in the last two months.  -  A service for David will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 11am on Thursday, July 2, followed by private cremation.  Messages can be left on David's page below.
