LEMALU, Ali'itasi Pepe (Tasi) MNZM - born March 4, 1937, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on Sunday May 25, 2025: aged 88 years. A loving life-partner to Lemalu Nanai Foalima, devoted mother to Selena, Jonathan and daughter-in-law Sandra, beloved grandmother to Arabella and Joshua. Emigrating from Falelatai, Western Samoa, she moved to Dunedin in 1960, beginning a family and a lifetime of service and fierce advocacy for her community and Pasifika people. A Pacific Island Liaison Officer at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin Family Court Advocate, Justice of the Peace, and Rotarian. Tasi was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in 2006 for services to the Pacific Islands Community.
-- A service to celebrate Tasi's life will be held in Hope & Sons chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 10.30am on Friday May 30, the funeral then leaving for Dunedin Cemetery.
