Helen and Family, our deepest sympathy on Lyndsay's passing. He certainly achieved huge amounts both with you all and in the Dunedin community. Helen you were the love of his life, and many years ago, in your teenage years, after some time apart from you, Lyndsay told us he only loved you and was going to ask you to marry - he did and what a great life you have had. Helen you have been a rock for Lyndsay and our thoughts are with you as you live through this distressing time.

Very sad to hear of Lyndsey’s passing on the program thismorning. I remember him well in the ‘70s while a student in Dunedin- I was one of those volunteers who did the Sunday morning roster- a lot of fun! He also proudly showed me around the ‘new’ station in 2005 when I was visiting Dunedin. My sincere sympathies to his family and his colleagues at 4XD.

What a shock to hear of Lindsay's passing. A kind, generous man who would always enquire how people were. He had such a caring heart. A man who loved Helen dearly and his family, whom he was extremely proud of. Lindsay and Helen were faithful and loyal friends of my late mother Dorothy and my sister Andre. I will never forget the love and compassion they had for her throughout her illness. I have much respect for them both as extraordinary human beings. Lindsay you will be missed. You have gained your place in Eternity, Bess you. May God comfort you Helen and family. Much love Janine Roberts

To my mind Lyndsay was Radio Dunedin over 6 decades. Not only on the radio but the work that went on behind the scenes to keep the stations flag flying, the hundreds of rosters organised to ensue all shifts were covered all done with good grace and enthusiasm. I particularly enjoyed Sunday morning at 6 , Brass band spot at 630 and later on a reminder of children’s storytime of yesteryear. Relaxed delivery, informative, acknowledgment of callers and interesting interviews on air. Prior to 7 on Sunday morning there was always James Lasts Orchestra rendition of Lastsl “Mornings at 7! From hereafter when I ever hear that tune I will be reminded of a special person who came into our homes and gave such ; warmth, sincerity , humanity to not onlly the world but especially Dunedin. RIP Lyndsay your life is at end but the melody lingers on !
