True to her joyful nature, she spent her final moments among friends, embracing the happiness she brought to every gathering. Samata passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025; aged 79 years.  Dearly loved wife of the late Oloialii; she will be sadly missed by her children Oloialii Nafa and wife Raewyn, Soteria, Karina, Clem and wife Monaecious, and the late Mark.  Beloved Grandma of Kelly and husband Albert, Victoria and partner Joanah, Dora and husband Fuimaono Tama, Mileniuma and wife Jade, Hector, Metusela, Mafo'e, Samoa, Vaelua, Tofē, Tiara and Ryan, and the greatest great-grandma of William, Mika and Paraika.

- A family service will be held at EFKS Church at 6:00pm on Monday, December 15.

- A funeral service for Samata will be held in EFKS Church, 41 Macandrew Road, South Dunedin at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 16, before leaving for the Dunedin Cemetery.
