On 10 June 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family, aged 85 years. Cherished husband of Therese of 63 years. Much loved and loving father and father-in-law of Trish and Paul Hoskin, Therese and Ross Duncan, Geraldine and Peter Hermens, Fiona and Andy Horne, Christopher and Fabiola, Michaela and Halliday Ryan, Sandra (Alex) and Glenn Booth. Adored Grandad of Zachary and Sarah, Thaddeus, and Seth and Lu; Christopher and Julia, Nicholas and Imogen, and William and Alex; Luchia and Julian, and Amelia and Richard; Madeline and Donny, and Alice and Richard; Nina; Feile, Cecilia, Xavier, and Mary; Elijah, Niamh, Jude, and Saoirse, and his 17 great grandchildren.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick's Basilica, Macandrew Road, South Dunedin at 1pm on Saturday 14 June, followed by a private cremation.  Rosary in the Basilica at 4pm on Friday evening.
