Peacefully at Dunedin Hospital on September 17, 2025, surrounded by his family; aged 79 years.
Loved partner and lifelong friend of Wendy, loved Dad of Becky, Katie and Tracey, Amber and Tyson, Jay and Amy, Sharna and Nevah, Kevahn and Nika, Cobie*, Vahni, Cajun and Ellie, much loved Poppy of all his grandchildren, Dante, Harmony, Hope, Mason, Marley-Jay, Honey, Latrell, Katelyn, Kahu, Nevaeh, Dillique, Kapua, Chrysler, Ghiahn, Acacia, Kora, Jet, and Grace (*Denotes deceased).
- A celebration of John's life will be held in the Maniototo Stadium, 1 Dungannon Street, Ranfurly, at 1pm on Monday September 22, followed by interment at the Ranfurly Cemetery. John will be resting at home from Friday morning for immediate family only, until Midday Saturday at which time his casket will be closed and visitors are then welcome to the house, 2 Dungannon Street, Ranfurly.
